The race begins at 5:00am at the Sugar Mill on the Old Mokulele Hwy in Kahului, Maui.

Uncle George Kahumoku Jr. will be singing the National Anthem at the start line.

George Kahumoku Jr tours every year both as a soloist and with other Hawaiian Masters.  His relaxed manner and entertaining stories frame his easy going slack key guitar style.  Slack key guitar is a traditional Hawaiian style of open tunings with embellishments unique to Hawaii, and George is a Grammy Award winning master of the craft.  Polished by years of hosting his peers at his popular weekly Slack Key Show – Masters of Hawaiian Music concert series on Maui, George brings Hawaii to you. We recommended you arrive to the race one hour before your race starts, and to the start area at least 15 minutes before the gun goes off.  If you are not at the start area when the gun is fired, you may not be allowed to start.

There is an 8 hour time limit for the full marathon.  Anyone on the course beyond the time limit will be picked up and brought to the finish area for safety reasons.

Participants MUST BE 16 Years of age or older to participate in the Maui Marathon.
