Maui Marathon update and the COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS)
Message from the Maui Marathon Race Director –
I hope everyone is being safe and healthy and still running through this unfortunate pandemic.
As you are aware, COVID-19 shutting down nearly all running events in the United States and abroad through the remainder of 2020. Our goal is to continually keep you up to date on the status of the 50th Year of the Maui Marathon to be held on April 25, 2021. Right now, we are moving forward full speed as our entire Maui Marathon team is working hard on all aspects of the event where possible.
The good news, we have confirmed our host resort for 2021! The Kaanapali Beach Hotel is the most authentic Hawaiian resort on Maui and is right across from the event finish line. There is now a reservation link on our website (mauimarathon.com
) for you to book your stay.
As in the past, all events will start and finish at the same locations and the course for each event is also the same. You will experience the beautiful, breathtaking views during your race journey on our beautiful island. Rest assured, we will put in place all CDC guidelines to provide you the safest and most enjoyable event possible.
We continue to closely monitor the status of COVID-19 in Hawaii and communicate regularly with local officials. We are in a very trying period right now on the island with most tourism shut down, limited flights to the island and the 14 day quarantine in effect. Though we cannot predict the future of this virus, we are hopeful it will be under manageable control by race day. Please refer to our website for our cancellation policy.
Thank you for your understanding and patience and we will continue to keep you up to date periodically as we move closer to the event.
