BUBBA GUMP MAUI TO BE MAJOR SPONSOR OF FRONT STREET MILE

Rudy Huber, Director of The Annual Front Street Mile in Lahaina, has announced that Bubba Gump Maui has become the major sponsor of the Front Street Mile. The name of this year's event will be The Run Forrest Run Front Street Mile. Bubba Gump plans to be a long term sponsor of an event that has proved to be a great community event for the kids and a world class event for the nations top milers. The date of the event is September 15th starting at 3:00pm. GO RUN FORREST RUN!!!!

This year's "Elite Mile" will have last year's runner up Jonah Mayo from Kenya coming into town to be the first non American to win the event. However 2-time winner Michael Stember is back to reclaim his title from the only other athlete who has won the Front Street Mile more than Stember, Jason Lunn( 3 times). With Jason not here this year Stember could win a third title and keep the title in American hands. This being the 6th annual, to have only Stember and Lunn win this event will be quite incredible.

However, adults of all ages and running abilities are invited to join in the open or masters division fun!

Join in the fun, September 15th starting at 3:00 pm at Cheeseburgers in Paradise (check-in is at 1:30 pm in front of Bubba Gumps.) to watch or have fun participating in the Run Forrest Run Front Street Mile!

Entry: The entry fee is $20 for adults & $15 for youth , Race day entry, $25 for adults, $20 for youth. The fee includes tee shirt and a finisher certificate.

Divisions: Sub-bantam, Bantam, Midget, Youth, Intermediate, Young Men/Women, Open Men/Women, Masters Men/Women, Olympic Development

Awards: Medals for the top 10 in all divisions. Prize money for Olympic Development Division.

Registration: Registration for the Youth and Open divisions at the Maui Marathon Expo at The Westin Maui, Friday from 1:00-8:00pm and Saturday, 9:00am-12:00 noon.
